STEP UP

Focused, hands-on support after your sign-off visit.

STEP UP is for colleagues whose sign-off visit showed that more focused mentoring would help before the ordinary RAISE cycle. It is a different level of support, not a failure.

You work on one or two priorities from your sign-off visit, starting with Inclusion and SEND or Formative assessment if either was Amber. Your Innovator plans with you, shows you, and visits more often.

How long it takes depends on you. It ends with a second sign-off visit, using the same criteria, once you and your Innovator agree you are ready.

Your stages

Take the stages in order. Your Innovator opens each one with you. Swipe or scroll along to see them all.

  1. Stage 1Up next

    Review & Refocus

    20 mins

Pick one or two priorities from your sign-off visit and make them specific enough to see in a lesson.

  2. Stage 2

    Baseline Visit: PowerEd

    30 mins

Record a lesson with PowerEd, focused on your priority, so you have a clear picture to work from.

  3. Stage 3

    Feedback & Development

    20 mins

Turn the evidence into one action, and rehearse it with your Innovator before you use it.

  4. Stage 4

    See It in Practice

    30 mins

Spend 15 to 20 minutes in a colleague's lesson, watching for your priority and nothing else.

  5. Stage 5

    Modelling & Collaborative Planning

    45 mins

Plan one lesson with your Innovator. They model the tricky part, then you explain the plan back.

  6. Stage 6

    Putting It Into Practice

    15 mins

Teach the plan, then repeat the same move for two to three weeks until it holds.

  7. Stage 7

    Second Sign-Off Visit

    30 mins

A second lesson visit, using the same criteria as your first. It decides whether you are now Ready for RAISE.

  8. Stage 8

    Review & Reflection

    30 mins

Compare where you started with where you are now, and agree what comes next.
